My Mother’s Precious Faith
I saw my Mother
Get up in the night.

Satan was trying
To fill her with fright.

He was threatening to steal
Her joy and her might.

She put on God’s armor
And increased her fight.

She sang praises to God
Through her tears in her plight.

My siblings were there
Like Aaron and Hur,
To lift Mother’s hands
And help her stand sure.

She thanked God for thing after thing
He had done,
Like making a way for the lost
Through his Son.

She named out her blessings
Of late and the past,
Reminding herself that
God’s love always lasts.

She prayed for each of
her children, their spouses
grandchildren, and great grands,
great-great grands, their houses.

She prayed for the neighbors
And church and our country.

She read from God’s Word,
 to trust Him completely.

In her sufferings she claimed,
“God is good and He’s right!”

With God’s Word and His praise
She put Satan to flight!
                                               Thank you, Dear heavenly Father!

  1. I wrote this because Daddy's little "Curly Top", 62 yr.-one-flesh partner is leaving us a treasure of an example by cleaving to the Lord for all she's worth, no matter what, AMEN!

  2. How can I say "Daddy" without "Mother"? How can I say "Mother" without "Daddy"? I hope it's O.K. that I posted this about Mother. I feel like she's working so hard to persevere with Daddy's vision of service for the LORD. It doesn't seem fitting to have a separate blog for her, but I hope we all get to write out our appreciation of her somewhere, while she's still with us, so we will be more comforted, when the Lord takes her home too. If anyone has input on this, please let me know.

    1. Dear Charity,

Daddy and Mother just simply go together. I don't know that Mother would want a blog specifically about her. I think this is a good place to write about Mother as well as Daddy. Daddy would not have been "Daddy", nor could we be the people we are without Mother.

      Love,
      Hope
